Our Organic Garden

Two months ago we planted a completely organic garden in the backyard! The kids and I (with the help of Grandma & Aunt Susie) went to the local nursery and picked out a dozen organic spring / summer plants including 4 varieties of tomatoes, white corn, yellow pepper, strawberries, and a handful of herbs including basil, rosemary, mint, cilantro and parsley. We picked a bunch of bags of organic potting soil and bought a bunch of pots. And don't forget all of the organic starter food and plant food! Then the work began! With the help of Dad and Juanita, we got all the plants in their respective containers. The kids have been watering them regularly and feeding them each month. Now, two months later, we have 3 stalks of corn that are over 4 feet tall with a few husks that can be seen! We have more than a dozen green tomatoes on their way to a beautiful red color. I have used many of the herbs in my daily cooking and even made homemade pesto the other day!
